Note: This was originally written as a directive to the Staff Members, but has been preserved for the sake of academic interest.
The Administrator's Philosophy
First and foremost, I feel a small introduction is in order. Many of you know me personally, but that is usually as 'Peter' not as 'Seru'. Good evening, my name is Seru, and I am fairly sure this is a devent enough introduction. On to the important stuff.
I will never overrule you without explaining why, usually behind closed doors. I will always play the bad guy if you need me to. And I will protect you as far as I can. I am the one who Pro-boards will come down on, and the only higher power other than them, is my Girlfriend, who is my secondary Admin. She can overrule me because she has a Master's degree in English, and more adminning experience than all of us combined. She also has my account passwords.
You can expect an essay, or at least a paragraph, or a Skype conversation, SOMETHING, from me. I am not heartless when I do not have to be.
On the flip side.
Ground Rules: First and foremost: Document. Everything. I can only back you up if I have logs to look at. It is best if you carry out any official 'Staff Business' over a PM, or an IM service, clearly stating what capacity you are acting in, and have a record of it.
Secondly: If you have a personal relationship to someone? Do not do staffing duties for them. If worst comes to worst, I will deal with them personally.
Thirdly: You are free to act of your own initiative. I would like to be kept apprised of anything you do, but do not feel a need to ask permission, if it is something that is storytelling wise. If it is administrative duty, such as a banning, I ask to be consulted if possible. This plays into Rule One. If you have logs, I can back you.
Fourthly: You are on this staff because I trust you. That means a great deal. It also means I am relying on you to keep an eye on me, because I am prone to minor manic fits, and having people to clamp down on my... Behaviour, is useful.
Fifthly: This is where we deal with appeals. Any appeal for a staff ruling should go to a superior. In the case of Moderator decisions, those go to a G-Mod, or Admin. G-Mod goes to Admin, Admin goes to me. My rulings are not final. Those are looked at by the staff team as a whole, as well as my girlfriend.
Hers... Usually kind of final though.
