MENTALS:
Personality: David is generally a light-hearted and easy-going individual. Talkative, he has a tendency to babble, combining apparent nonsense with pertinent information and is prone to making cheeky comments that sometimes come off as rude. An extrovert, David is naturally charismatic and finds it relatively easy to establish a positive rapport with other people.
David has demonstrated a bit of a dark streak. He can be rather unforgiving and does not often give second chances. When dealing with “difficult” individuals, he offers only one warning. If this is ignored, he will often act swiftly and violently. This attitude no doubt stems from his past mistakes. His parents had given him a ‘second chance’ and he had abused it; because of that, his parents had paid with their lives. He still deeply regrets his past and will often fall into bouts of deep depression.

SUPERNATURAL/XGENE POWERS
Theme or overarching Idea:
Beginning Mutations:
Super Eidetic Memory - David can remember every detail of every moment of every day of his life since the day his powers manifested in perfect detail. His brain acts like a computer and can pull up these memories automatically whenever the need arises. Not only can he remember everything but he has the ability to comprehend and utilize this information. The 'muscle memory' of his powers works slightly differently. He cannot simply see someone else do a physical act and copy it. David must actually do the act himself. A prime example of this is martial arts. Just because he might know and understand the techniques behind it, he must still train his body and experience actual combat situations to learn to utilize them. Should he ever be made to forget something through other means, his brain will simply rework itself to access the blocked information.
Telepathic Block – Although his mind is not completely impenetrable, it is excessively difficult to enter his mind via telepathic means without his consent. Should a telepath try to detect him, he ‘feels’ as if he is just ‘empty space’. This also makes it difficult to communicate with him telepathically.
How the mutations will grow and develop potentially down the road: (Unknown)
Drawbacks of the Mutations, Weakness or ties in to other “problems” listed above and how that equals out what you have to begin with: As mentioned above, he must experience physical abilities first hand in order to learn and utilize them. David’s Telepathic Block also makes it difficult to communicate with him telepathically. His mind is almost always active, and so it is very hard for him to sit still for long.

HISTORY OF THE CHARACTER:
David Aven was the second of three sons born to Paul and Cathrine Aven of Cardiff, Wales. Just like his brothers, he proved to be exceptionally intelligent even at an early age. At the age of seven he was able to use basic logic to out argue his father. The simple, “because I said so,” was no longer an acceptable argument. In school he quickly discovered that the other children did not appreciate his intelligence but absolutely loved his cheeky attitude.
David desperately wanted to do be popular and did everything he could to gain the adoration of his peers. He acted out in school, out witting his teachers in verbal debates and pulling some of the funniest pranks. He gained the popularity he so desired, but his grades suffered as a result. Life at home became increasingly difficult and his parents were at a loss on how to curb his misbehavior. They took away his toys, grounded him, and tried their best to get him to focus on his work. It worked for a while, his grades went back up, and the school reported that he was behaving in school.
The calm only lasted for a short time, David entered year nine of his schooling and with it came a renewed desire to be popular. This time around he was more careful in how he rebelled. He no longer openly battled with his teachers but defied the system by intentionally getting lower than expected grades and exciting his fellow students. David also began pulling pranks, but was more careful about how he initiated them to prevent himself from being caught.
Late one night, after the rest of his family had gone to bed, David snuck down to the kitchen to prepare for his next prank: smoke bombs. He had successfully made nearly a dozen bombs when the 13-year-old boy got a little careless. David turned away from his concoction to grab another ingredient and bumped the burner knocking it over. Before he had time to react, the flames had reached the small stock pile of unfinished bombs. David watched dumbstruck as the bombs exploded in a rainbow of smoke. If it had not been for his older brother David might have died that night.
Christopher had woken up to the sound of glass breaking and saw that David was not in his bunk. Concerned, Christopher headed downstairs and saw the smoke billowing from the kitchen. He leaped – literally – into action, over the dancing flames and grabbed his younger sibling, pulling him out the back door; but, the young teenager wasn’t finished. Despite the danger to himself, Christopher went back inside the house to grab his youngest brother Matthew who was still asleep inside. He would have gone in a third time for his parents, but the flames were simply too intense.
The events of that night were burned into David’s mind. He could remember every horrifying moment perfectly: The flames, the smoke, his brother, and – upon later contemplation – the utter lack of a fire alarm. It is easy to chalk say that these particular memories were so vivid because of the trauma attached to them; however, from that night on, he continued to remember every detail, of every day for the rest of his life.
David and his brothers moved in with their grandparents, James and Kensi Aven. They did their best to console David, but sometimes it was just no use. He lost the desire to be popular and began to focus on his school work which had become exponentially easier thanks to his new and improved memory. He soon discovered that he not only possessed a superior memory, but also the ability to comprehend it all and actually utilize it!
He could listen to any foreign language and after a short time David would be able to have a basic understanding of it. A little longer, and he could become nearly fluent. This ability had its drawbacks. For example, while he understands how to play a piano he does so poorly, and with lots of mistakes. His mind may be trained for the act, but his body is not.
With his new powers he virtually soared through school, making Valedictorian for his class and was promptly accepted to the University of Cambridge where he earned a Bachelor of Linguistics. He then moved on to the University of Illinois where he earned a Master degree in Library and Information Science. He worked in Illinois for about a year before he transferred to the Elmer Holms Bobst Library in New York City.
